Do you seriously believe crap like that ? None of the "gearheads" I know (and I know quite a few) would ever use something like this, there would be laughed out for being naive...

I wouldn't really bother, this sounds like 'snake oil' to me.

On the other hand I know some other guys who use it for 4.2 V8 engines. Maybe there are many other similar products in the market, but my mechanic suggests only this one. I'm not telling that without this you will have problems.
I'm considering this as an extra protection.

Guys it does NOT replace oil. It is an additional product.

I know it's an additive. But think about this way - why wouldn't oil manufacturers add it themselves (especially that they have infinitely bigger research budgets) ?

Feel free to use, not going to hurt the engine (probably), I personally don't ever use things like that and think it's mostly scam that anything else.

With modern oil, additives are basically a scam at best, and at worst actually can compromise the oil itself.

Maybe if the engine has 1 million km on it, sure.
Usually not good to add extra stuff besides the ones recommended or tested on lots and lots of cars and kms.
