I have a few days spare in Las Vegas then Los Angeles next month. Can anybody recommend a good parts place in either? My shopping list includes the Borla Touring exhaust and the GT back panel to do away with the faux gas cap. Might even stretch to a new mesh grille. I won't be bringing these back in my hand luggage but I prefer to deal face to face.

So the American Muscle site, automatically converts all prices of parts to UK £s and when you go to the view cart page it also gives you the tax and shipping price included in the total.

Looking from their website, it seems that American Muscle have partnered up with UPS to delivery internationally. They seem to be the cheapest way to get parts delivered to the UK easily.

They also have the OEM GT decklid panel available (quite expensive tho at £400). I am really tempted by this, I really dont like the faux filler GT badge.

I'm currently in communication with CJ Pony Parts about some bits - about $800 worth, hood struts, sto n sho, oil catch can, strut tower brace, boot liner and the decklid panel (clean, no GT, $139).

There are three shipping options:
International Economy $175.93 - 7 days
International Standard Parcel $329.50 - 30 days
International Economy Freight $374.46 - 7 days

The two Economy services mention duty and taxes on delivery. Standard Parcel says this:

Being sceptical of the no duty/taxes (even though it was in bold on the website) I emailed them and they state they have no all-inclusive shipping so I've asked them what this means as its a bit misleading.

My Ford Racing decklid and Pony Pack emblem came inclusive of taxes and duty from CJ Pony Parts. Quick efficient and well packaged.

That's the way it reads to me but the rather vague guy I spoke to refuted that!

Did you ship via the Standard Parcel service and how did the price compare with other services offered?

I've asked for clarification on why the Standard service is considerably more expensive and slower if there are no additional benefits but they've gone quiet again. Service like this makes me reluctant to order.

CJ were the singly most expensive for shipped parts that I enquired to, re an exhaust. They might not, but some may mark up ALSO on duty :shrug:

Looking back at my order it says International Standard Parcel but I remember that it said this included duty and tax. The total for the decklid, emblem and shipping was $ 250 which I was happy with. It arrived within a week and no additional charges. In my past experience (mostly shipping guitars) it's a bit pot luck as to whether your shipment attracts duty and tax if it is smaller, but for large or high value shipments it is more likely. Going with a quote that includes all this is the safest bet otherwise you risk waiting for Parcelforce to write to you requesting settlement (for which they charge a further fee), or even finding out the parcel is held in the East Midlands hub until you do something about the duty and tax.

It was FedEx that contacted me with the Customs and Excise ransom note, no charge by them, as soon as the duty was paid, it arrived two days later.

ParcelFarce, never had any dealings in the process.

Same here. I'd never even heard of such a device before, but thanks to the internet, it's something else I've now convinced myself is an absolute necessity. Was going to go for the Mashimoto as it appeared to be easier to fit? One other thing that did occur to me was the RHD fitting. Obviously the engine will be the same but if components (battery etc.) have been swapped around, it may not fit in same palce?

I think the answer is yes, but as ever it's not a terribly simple or cheap process. There's a thread on it...

Soooo I've ordered a few things from CJ's :headbonk:;

• Ford Racing (Touring) Cat-Back exhaust with black tips
• JLT Oil Separator (anodized)
• Steeda Progressive Springs (Front - 1.125" drop / Rear - 1" drop)
• Eibach 20mm Wheel Spacers (I'll install on fronts)
• Eibach 25mm Wheel Spacers (I'll install on rears)
• Black Lug Nuts (to match the PP wheels)

I also ordered from UPR Products;

• Gloss black 5.0 badges
• Gloss black Pony replacement

Looks like my car wont be turning up until December so all this will be waiting for installation. All in all, these parts will make the car near perfect. It's an Ingot Silver with gloss black roof. The additional black accents will give the car an aggressive look while still looking standard (its pretty much in line with what Ford are offering on the 'black pack' 2016/17 cars).
The Steeda Progressives are the result of reading all the feedback possible the spring options. It will lower the ride height just enough to get rid of the wheel gap but the ride will by all accounts be improved over the stock PP springs. We'll see how that works but it certainly wont ruin the ride like a big drop would. The spacers will just fill out the wheels and give it a bit more of an aggressive stance. Then there's the exhaust, has to be done, I certainly don't want the car to be obnoxious but the stock set up is way to quiet for a MUSTANG. The touring option will be perfect.

I'll certainly consider Supercharging the car at a later date as I do like the idea of wasting Ferraris at the quarter mile but I'll leave that as an open option for now.
So that's my excitement for the week, back to waiting for my car.
