That is a standard part that comes with the strut tower brace on the pp. We rhd'ers only get the k brace...it's only a hundred fiftyish usd plus shipping for a new takeoff strut brace from the states....ebay has plenty of them.

Shipping goodies from the US - slow boat?

As we all know, the cost of shipping bulky items over from the US is often more than the actual item. However, this is usually based on them being flown over so they arrive in a few days.

Could we use the fact that we are in no rush (waiting 3 months anyway) to our advantage and have any items shipped by boat? I have no experience in doing this but assume it'd be much cheaper. Anyone done anything like this before or have any idea if it would indeed be a good idea?

Ron Fenton brings a container over every couple of months - you can use that to bring stuff over.

This could work out quite nicely. If I understand their website correctly, we can let them know what parts we want, they will source said parts, pack them up in the container, ship them over and then we go pick them up.....with them being in Chelmsford (25mins from me) that could be a good alternative to me trying to import parts :)

That's a really good service, as shipping costs from the US are prohibitively expensive for the majority of car parts and I assume this would be considerably cheaper. Only problem for me is that Chelmsford isn't particularly convenient for us in the North East of Scotland. I wonder if they would arrange shipping (or I could arrange a shipper to collect)?

Presumably the process involves ordering the parts as normal but having them shipped to the Florida address?

I already have a list of mods I want to do and its just about trying to find out how I can get them across to me.

· JLT Oil Separator
· Ford Racing by Borla Sport Catback Exhaust
· Engine Strut Tower Brace
· Recaro sports seats (as available in US)
· GT deck lid (US version) not keen on the faux filler cap GT badge on the euro spec

Anyone got any ideas as to if these parts are available from anyone in the UK? I know the exahuast system is available from Steeda UK. Besides that, the others dont seem to be available in the UK.
Thanks

What price did Steeda UK give you on the exhaust?

I do think it will change though, as the Mustang becomes more popular. A bit of common sense or understanding what the market will become for these mods is an opportunity for someone who could offer reasonable prices.
