2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Yes, it’s really looking great. The Tamiya Panel Line Accent is also excellent for adding detail to the fuselage and wings. Look it up if you aren’t familiar with it and watch a couple YouTube videos. 👍

Made some headway! Almost looking like part of a plane now. Left side fuselage now has the cockpit installed. Right side needs just a little more work and then it’s what I think may be the hardest part of the model, lining up all the connection points of both sides of the fuselage. All I’ve assembled is now in just 2 pieces and soon to be just one. Feels great! I did run into some issues with some parts that won’t be seen. Super tiny things that I just don’t have the magnification, tweezers, or correct glue to get together. But we’re talking pieces that you would need a bore scope to maybe see. I tried a few different times to make it work and gave up. Didn’t want to risk a mess with glue where I didn’t want it. 2 of the 3 pieces are actually sandwiched between others so they won’t be missed at all. There were also some decals smaller than I can read and look more like a smudge of something instead of a detail so also skipped them. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. For reference, I am on step 20 of 73 in the instructions lol.

Got the eye helper today!! Also got all assemblies together so I now have a wingless plane looking thing. But…I messed up. I knew I should have waited for the Tamiya glue that’s on the super slow boat to get to me. Got some glue on the exterior paint. Unsure how to fix it without doing a TON of taping off and lightly sanding smooth and repainting. Or chalk it up to old WW2 plane with flaws. So I’m on hold now so frustration doesn’t enter any part of the process. What I have built gets set aside while I make other things anyway. Been a rough few days with a bunch of dumb stuff happening like dropping a container of inventoried hardware at work today. So the next few hours I spent recounting and separating it all. Also got a rock chip on the windshield on my way home from work. Several other all happening over the last like 48 hours. Want to take it out on the punching bag like normal but my hands hurt. X-rays say it’s not arthritis and I start physical therapy in a week or so. Falling apart sucks. Anyway, here’s some pics lol

deep breaths and take it out on the bag! getting olderrrr sucks :) I had acl surgery on my knee back in the early 90's....self inflicted through martial arts. flares up now and then but sucks none the less. I feel your inventory "spill on warehouse floor" pain. one day at a time. fuselage looks great. this will be one good looking P51D!

Hang in there bud. I only use Tamiya bottle glues as they will flow easily and have great hold. Sorry for the physical problems, which can be tough. I have a second cataract now and my Ophthalmologist has diagnosed macular degeneration in both of my eyes. I know how that progresses after watching it with my dad, Uncles, etc.

Thank you all for the support. Believe me I want to obliterate the bag!! I just know my hands will hurt a little more for the next few days after. Trying to weigh that vs mental stability and I'll likely go for an hour or so tonight. First 5 minutes will be great and smoke me, next 55 minutes struggling to breathe and keep my hands up, but that's the process I'm almost addicted to. Doesn't help I'm fat now too but my dad just lost a bunch of weight so I can too and even easier I'm sure. Been about a month since I hit the bag but I been cycling and spinning in the garage on a trainer when weather is crappy. Pedal in a fit of rage just isn't the same as folding a 180lbs. bag in half with a fist or shin. Leather glove slapping leather bag is also an addicting sound as you know. So it turns out my rock chip on my windshield is actually 3... disappointing but relatively small and on the passenger side. Probably wont ever start a crack.

Back to the P-51D, I am excited to start painting the tail rudder the same color as the Boss 302. It'll be my first attempt at taping areas off too but I have to specific modelling tape for it so expecting a good result. The covers for the engine witch wont be glue but held on by magnets! will be taped off too but will need a curve to match historical designs that I fully intend on doing. That burgundy metallic is going to look amazing against the bare metal silver. So moving forward, I'll skip today for sure and maybe get back to doing some more "hidden" assemblies with the glue I have or just focus on painting things ahead vs. as I go like I've been doing. I guess the prop blades have yellow decals for the tips but I may just paint them because I dislike decals a lot. Laser etched plastic and metal pieces but still using decals with "tech" from the 40's.

Definitely like to see some more pictures of that car.one off my all time favorite cars.
Will do when I get home, if I remember haha! It's the lowest quality of my recent modeling as it's my first one getting back into it, plenty of flaws.
