Guys, I have a problem....

I'm trying to set up the mobile apps on my 2016 Sync3 (2.2). I have enabled the Android Auto setting in the Settings menu. I have connected my Galaxy 7 Edge to the USB port next to the start button via cable (no bluetooth or wireless connection) but when I select Mobile Apps, it starts searching and does identify the 7 Edge. Then NOTHING. Says it can't find any apps.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Want to run Waze for navigation. I have Waze and Android Auto on my phone. (both running at the time of the search)

Do I need something else?

When Android Auto shows up on car radio, select Navigation. It asks if you want to run Waze or Google maps. This assumes AA and Waze are latest versions on phone. FYI, I keep Bluetooth and WiFi on.

There's the problem though...:frusty: Android Auto does not show up on the car radio. No apps appear at all and when you scan for apps, it says that no apps are found.

I just checked and have the latest versions of both Android Auto (2.6.573464 9/6/17) and Waze (4.29.0.0 9/10/17) installed on my phone.

My bluetooth and wireless are both on but the phone is connected via a usb cable. Should I not be using the cable?

AA and Sync are very picky about the cable you use. None of the crap cables I got off Amazon worked. I used a Belkin cable and it did the trick. You might also want to try the new SYNC v 3 that was just posted here on the forum.

Success !

Happy to report that I have things working now. It was the cable. Switched it out for a new one and just a soon as I plugged it in, AA came up just fine. Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!!!
