2Cool - Care to confirm if you were running these last year for sgtcentipede?Just going to add this to the thread: the 19x10 wheels with 45mm offset do mount over the PP brakes easily... but the tire slightly rubs on the strut. I mounted it with a 3mm (~1/8")spacer and it fit fine, though that was with a 275 tire, a 285 would likely still rub.
are you 19x10 square or staggered with 19x8.5?
I ordered these and the shipping weights of the boxes are 27 and 29lbs all boxed up for 19x8.5 and 19x10. I'll weigh my 19's tomorrow if you like? These are 30 lbs? That's not that much lighter that stock GT PP wheels. If I replace the wheels, I'd want to be in the mid 20's at least. Nice looking wheels though.
Rotating mass affects the car differently than normal mass. That being said, I've read several tests comparing lighter and heavier wheels and some show lighter wheels being better while others show there is no difference. I say buy what you like and enjoy it.Why is weight always the biggest question asked about any part? These car weigh 3700lbs. I could see if we were on a forum for strret bikes or something but it would seem 5 lbs is negligible when it's close to 2 tons once we put some gas and actually get into the car.
If we cleaned up our diets a little and hit the gym a few times per week the weight savings would be huge and we can order whatever parts we want despite the slight added weight.
