Hunter - I just ordered the Rexing V1 and I'd like to power it thru the mirror like you guys are doing.

So I think I'll order the pins like you did to make sure I get the correct size.

And like ya'll, I know little to nothing about electronics.

I'm assuming the two wires that you connect into the mirror slots with the pins are just a positive and negative wire from the V1? And these are the only two wires you need to hook up?

And when you start the car, do you have to turn on the camera for it to start recording? Or does it start recording automatically? I'm assuming you have to turn it on, but it would be nice if it just came on on its own.

Thanks for entertaining my questions.

***. Just re-read the thread and realized I also need to order the converter that you used.
Yes, you'll need to order the converter (which is like $2 on eBay) and attach the crimp pins to the wires on the converter. These pins just fit into the slots on the back of the mirror and the camera will turn on whenever you start the car, so it will start recording automatically.

Thanks, Hunter. I've got everything ordered and I think it will go fine.

So I got my Rexing V1 yesterday evening and I'm using the plug in cigarette lighter power source until the converter arrives and I can hard wire the camera into the mirror per Hunter's technique.

I'm about to go test the camera out on the way to my local hand car wash.

Before reading more, I ordered and recieved the Sandisk Ultra 64 GB micro disk when I ordered the camera. Now I'm reading that folks are having issues with this disk and I should have ordered a Sandisk Endurance disk or another brand with higher speed capacity.

Did any of you guys have issues with the Ultra? I guess I'll use it and if problems develop, I'll order a better one.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/input.

Converter finally came in and I hard wired the Rexing to the mirror today. Works like a charm.
