Hi Steve,

I got my invoice  and it all looks good, but I would really like to know the db ratings for the non approved system when compared to stock before I buy it - do you have them?

You mentioned "For the initial release there will be the X-Pipe non-res louder and the EC approved with front resonator, we will also be releasing a valved system and a small volume front resonator that will be between the EC approved and X-Pipe non res in terms of sound / volume, the system is module so it will allow owners to select what fits there needs."

So if the non approved one is too loud and I want to conform to the law or my neighbours moaning, can I add the "small volume front resonator" later on?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Got the email from Leighh, but need to know DB ratings before placing order? Can you advise??

It's for the quad tip titanium system by the way - resonator vs non resonated.

How are any of you guys without access to a lift fitting your exhausts when you get them?

Or do you just pay a local garage and at what sort of cost?

I'm without a Lift, but have a friend with one who will allow me to use it should I need to.

My father-in-law has a lift however I probably won't fit the exhaust immediately. Might run the car stock for a bit then have the exhaust fitted by whoever I get to do my suspension changes, whatever they turn out to be. Just need that done before the NC500.

I'm planning to DIY. A friend of mine can get access to a lift which would make life much easier. I could probably do it without at a push but it would probably take twice as long as it should. I'm actually quite looking forward to it - it's been over 10 years since I spannered a car! :eyebulge:

Does anyone know the stock exhaust DB rating?

Has anyone had a PM from Steve with the non approved figures for comparison?

Also here's some data on the weight saving with the system: -

OE Cat Back = 34.7KG

Dual Outlet with X-Pipe = 24.9KG (-9.8KG)

Quad Outlet with X-Pipe = 26.3KG (-8.4KG)

The EC approved resonated system saved 5.15KG with dual outlet trims and 3.75KG with the quads.

Excellent! Sounds like they should be good for 98 drive-by on-track then (static tests normally 100 for 'quiet' days).

Just back from Geneva mortorshow, so will get the order in forthwith - hope I haven't missed the boat??

Cheers Steve - all good info.

When I spoke to Leigh the other day he said the packages will be sent UPS, will we get a tracking number with that (and hopefully an approximate delivery window)? I only ask because I usually don't know when I'll be around and I'm guessing it isn't the kind of package the delivery guy can just leave under the mat?! :)
