Just got a quote on a set of Michelin PSS. 275/35/20 fronts, and 295/35/20 rears.

The fronts are $263.00 and the rears are $325.00.

Total price, including tax, mounting and balancing, is $1,378.

This seems like a reasonable price for good tires.

Thoughts?

Damn, performance tires are getting cheap these days. I paid $2200 for a similar set on my C6 in 2007.

that's not bad actually. $100 for mounting and balancing is fair. I've seen small little mom and pop shops do $60 for all four but their tire prices may not be as great. Great find!

It's outrageous overpriced.
So what would be a good price for the Pilot Super Sports? Tire Rack is advertising the rears (295/35/20) for $356.70 for the Pilot Super Sport

Thanks.

I'm getting these from my local Discount Tires. The employee did tell me that the Michelin PSSs have come down in price.

I've read good things about them, especially from fellow forum members.

could take a look at the continental extremecontact sports. Billy Johnson said they are on par with PSS (not PS4S) but are well priced

$1400 tax and install sounds about right for tires like this

That's the quote from my local Discount Tires. I've been giving them a lot of business the past 2 1/2 years. :)

When he told me the price, I told to him to go ahead and order them.

I hope I get somewhat better mileage out of the PSS rears. With the Bridgestone Potenzas, I've been having to replace the rears after about 10k to 11k miles. I have about 25k on the front Potenzas and I need tires all the way around. So I'm jumping to the PSSs.

Thanks, ForTehNguyen. I thought it was a pretty good price. I was considering looking for a less expensive tire that's not as good of a performer, but when he gave me that price on the PSSs, I decided to go for it.

You will get better mileage. I have a square 275/40 setup and I'm 10k miles in and just rotated the rears to the front (I know I should have done it sooner) and they still look almost new. Tons of tread depth left. I see myself getting the claimed 30k miles out of them. They're expensive, but last much longer than most compatible performance tires IMO so the cost is equal or less in the long run.
