Hi Clay, if you have not received your car yet please wait until you do before making the decision to change the shifter. There seems to be a huge variation in the quality of the stock shifter between cars (i have no idea why) and also the shifter feel is a very personal thing. Imo the stock shifter is up there as one of the best manual transmissions I have driven. I know a lot of people feel otherwise, but you really need to make this decision for yourself. Don't go by what other people are saying on the internet.

I have had an MGW installed for about 9 months now, Melbnut has had one installed for 9 months too.

I love the shifter, agree with msweet that it doesn't get rid of all the notichness but it is much better than stock.

I hated the stock shifter, I experienced high rpm lockouts and even lockouts at lower rpm. It was ridiculously notchy and really didn't inspire me. I know of two other people who have gone with another shifter (Barton and Steeda) who both ended up selling for the MGW. So make of that what you will.

I have driven a car with the Ford Performance shifter, which in my opinion is just a waste of money, it merely makes the throws shorter as it changes the fulcrum but it retains 95% of the stock hardware

Had MGW on my car for almost to 2 months now and absolutely love it!

Huge improvement over stock shifter, which I found really sloppy and notchy.

MGW shifts are a lot tighter, shorter and heaps smoother. I still occasionally experience tiny notchiness, but nothing comparing to what it was like stock. Apparently trans fluid swap removes that completely.

Definitely worth it and would highly recommend. Best investment (aside from the exhaust)!

Not local, but Lethal Performance will have them at 10% off tomorrow. Helps with the shipping cost.

I have driven a brand new stock car back to back with my mgw equipped mustang.. night and day. It is by far the best mod I have done to the car. Stock is anything but clean compared to mgw
