What would be the difference between the MBRP pro series axle back vs getting the muffler cut off at a shop? Isnt the MBRP just a muffler delete?

Most likely will not go that route, already have catted headers and h pipe with the factory active exhaust. Was planning on cutting off the muffler and welding pipes to connect to the tips containing the valves.

Yup and deleting the mufflers will sound like $hit. The volume is one thing but the rasp is just ridiculous
I don’t think this sounds like the shit. Perhaps you’re talking about a Mustang with the mufflers hacked off revving with no tips on?

The cars I've heard in person with Borla, Corsa, Roush, etc sound far better than the couple muffler deletes I've heard, even at similar volume. Just my opinion, but it's a tuned tone vs noise. Worth it to get an axleback or catback setup that's been tuned for the car.

What you and I think is different but IMO The first vid does sound like shit. The rasp is laughable. Also, tip's don't make a large difference in tone either unless their resonated or turn downs.

The second one is much better because it has a resonator helping out with a lot of the rasp frequencies. Still gonna be loud AF tho and super annoying after 5 minutes.

FWIW, both of those cars will get booted off any track I've been to in my state (Insert bush league commie-fornia joke here).

I wasn’t making comparisons to other systems, and I wouldn’t recommend muffler deletes myself. I don’t find it to sound like shit though.

Sound can be good but you will be in drone city. Otherwise you are paying for a piece made for the car. I did buy the deletes from MBRP for m y 15 and they did not fit well though.

No, it doesn't. That'd be a stock ecoboost with one of the louder catbacks.

May I suggest spending your $$$ on a catback system. In my opinion the best exhaust option for sound. They usually have very little to No drone. I have a Street Series MBRP Catback System and love it! Plus installation is bolt on. No cutting! Plus it is Super easy to revert back to stock when you decide to sell or trade. Just my $.02

Completely agree, I have the MBRP Race Catback and the sound is beautiful. I get compliments and inquiries all the time.

I would go with the mbrp race, but they do not make the axleback with valves for my active exhaust system. I was planning to cut the mufflers off my system and weld on pipes in place of the old mufflers connecting back to the stock tips which contain the valves. If MBRP does not make an active system in the future, I will end up purchasing the corsa axleback.

If you go this route I would keep the resonators.
Good advice.

Going with an X-Pipe or res + muffler delete sounds gross and raspy as fuck.

Kept my resonators on and deleted my mufflers and think this sounds way deeper and better than spending $1000 on a shitty axle back and x-pipe ‍‍️‍
