MBRP street exhasut leak help

Hola people. I was hoping for some advice. I've had the MBRP street for a while. I'm not very happy with it and more than likely will upgrade one day but it won't be anytime real soon.

I had the car in the garage jacked up rotating the tires and decided to get up under there with it running and see if I could feel any air leaking out of the joints. I always just assumed that the car, and this particular exhaust, had a bit of a rasp to it. Anyways, there is air leaking out of all 3 joints. The clamp where the pipe meets the header and the axle clamps. I'm sure this won't solve all the sound I'm disappointed with but it damn sure can't hurt to get this fixed. Problem is, I don't really know where to start to fix it. I do know I don't want to have it welded but will if I have to. So what can be done to fix this. Anybody familiar with this or ran into the same problem before??

So you made no effort to check the clamp bolts? Or loosen and retighten?

What can be done to fix it? Tighten and readjust the piping/clamps.

Tighten the clamps. Exhaust leaks will make a huge difference in how the car sounds.

The clamps this system (and most other bolt on systems) use can be positioned wrong. Make sure the little piece in the clamp that distributes tension is roughly centered between two relief slots on the pipe. It will create the most complete seal this way.

After a 1000 miles I tightened it all up again and no leaks at all... Wow don't like the sound? Mine is ear candy! Can't wait to install my sp long tubes!

I think I may have the same problem with my Corsa Xtreme. It's gotten louder and much raspier in the last few hundred miles. Had it on since June. Going to tighten up everything and check the front reducer joint tomorrow. Went in my coworker's car with the Xtreme today and it was pretty different.

they also sell a exhaust joint sealer at auto zone or a local parts store its like a paste that seals the joints i had to use that on my old challenger. and it solved the issue.i had to loosen the clamp take the pipe out put some on the inside or outside of each pipe then reseat and clamp

Where you have your tips makes a difference as well. Wheter they are tucked, flush, or out past the bumper.

Good suggestion. Mine are about 1-1.5" past the valence, but could go further out. Worth a try.
