Matte black wrapped trunk panel

You can still see where the holes are but this was a test to see what it would look like. Now I think I will fill the holes and have it painted.

Can you remove the piece around the lights?

Im not really sure if that piece would come off of the tail lights or not. I might ask the guy who started this thread here. He at least knows how to take the whole assembly out.

I'm going with your idea. Dropping the lid panel and the tail lights off with the painter on Monday. Hopefully I will have it back and installed by Wednesday and will take some better pictures.

That came out good. What did you do to the diffuser exactly?

So far all I did was have that plastic trunk piece wrapped in matte black vinyl. it looks good from a distance but up close you can see a few bubbles and the original holes from the GT emblem. Monday I'm going to have an auto paint shop fill those holes and paint it matte black. They will also paint the black parts around the tail lights matte black also.

I will be removing my tails. Taping the lenses off and dipping the surrounds in matte and then VHT nightshading the lenses themselves. After that the FRPP panel will get dipped in matte as well. Should look good with the Rousch valence.

Taping the tail lights is a pain. I decided it's not worth my time to paint the tail lights.
