looks like a black sponge in a plastic cage on one side. get a stanley knife and/or hacksaw blade and just chop it out
mine was injection moulded / heat bonded to 4 little legs and all along one side of the filter lid impossible to yank off had to be cut off couldn't even get my big claws under itStanley knife? how weak are you lol! Yank the fucker it pops off. ;)!

Thanks. That'll be by first job when I get back from holiday!Just a PMAS CAI, but as mentioned, removing the carbon trap from the stock airbox & using a decent filter in there will give near enough the same result.
