Last week, I drove my convertible with the top down. When I got home, I put the top back up up and locked the top. When doing so, you have to grip the lock handle and twist it.
When I tried to start the car this morning...the battery was totally dead.
I put a battery charger on. This evening, I went out and the battery was charged. As I went back into the house, I noticed that one of the map lights on the upper console was on! I had accidentally bumped the map light switch when I twisted the top locking handle. In the daylight, it was impossible to notice the map light was on. So the light was on for at least a day. The map lights, unlike most of the interior lights are always powered.
When you enter or exist...the interior lights including the map lights are on automatically. You won't notice if you have turned on the map lights on, until all of the interior lights have automatically turned off. So double check the map lights if you have raised or lowered the top...you may have turned on a map light.
