Hello all, new to the forum and currently doing the tango with a few dealerships to pick up a new 2017 Mustang V6 for as cheap as possible, I'm coming from a Miata so the gain in weight is a little disappointing but living in Texas, I wanted something a little bigger and safer....

Anyway, handling is important to me and I've driven both a GT (non-PP) and a V6. The manual V6 was more fun but in the GTs defense it was an automatic and they never explained the the steering mode button.... I wasn't overly enthused (you can really feel the weight difference compared to a Miata) but I like Mustangs and I've been in an S197 Boss 302 so I know the potential. In short, handling is more important to me than power so I'm going to take the ~200lb weight saving over the GT and roughly $10-15k saving in price (depending on how hard you shop).

To the point/question, once I get the car the first plan is wheels + RE71R tyres and then suspension. Having a proven package that just works and bolts in is important to me hence why I was turning to the FRPP M-FR3A-M8 Track Pack however, from their website it says that it is no for the V6 which is somewhat disappointing, the question is, does anyone know *why* they say it's not compatible with the V6?

I appreciate your help!

There's no reason it would not work with the V6, particularly as the V6 and EB have nearly identical weight distribution. Everything will bolt right up.

Good to know, I'm puzzled then as to why they would exclude it, perhaps the spring rates aren't right for the weight of the car?

Knowing them, they probably just never tested it on the V6 so they don't want to market it as compatible without testing it. As stated, the EB and V6 weigh within a handful of lbs of each other front and rear, so since it works well on the EB, it'll work well on the V6.

Cool, thank you, looks like I'll be going that route then so long as it doesn't turn the ride into a crashy/spine shattering mess on the street... That got tiring real quick in my Miata.

Are there any other quick/easy and reasonably cheap suspension/chassis upgrades to go along with the track pack that you'd recommend? Was looking at the Steeda billet mounts but looking at the pics of the track pack, it looks like it already comes with different/better mounts already? Do they make the Steeda mounts redundant?

It does come with mounts but there's no difference to the ones you have. Definitely get the billet mounts, part number 555-8151, for those shocks as they add a good deal of suppleness to the suspension by letting the shock articulate properly. I'd also highly, highly recommend the BMR CB005 cradle lockout kit. It will vastly improve the feeling of the rear of the car during cornering and especially when applying power out of corners. It will feel much more locked in and gets rid of the sloppiness of the rear subframe. Extremely minimal NVH impact (road bumps are slightly more audible).

BMR CB005-It locks the rear cradle in place giving you MUCH improved feel and what not. I love those things, can't say enough good stuff about them!

The V6 can use V8 springs - front may not drop as much. It'll all certainly fit.

Don't forget the lateral locks for the front sway bar. I just placed a order myself this morning.
I am basically doing a similar build. FRPP Sway bars, Struts & shocks w/ Vogtland Roush/Yates springs.

Here is the the link. "FRPP Track package help."http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79078
