I like to disassemble things.
The ARP's are very well done. Downside is the decrease in size regardless of the assurance that they are fine for this application. Ford Racing/ARP need to get the ball rolling and start offering GT350 front hubs with ARP M14 studs already pressed in.

So there are not any ARP options for direct OEM replacement yet? Tob, business opportunity? Seen a few break the OEM studs...not sure of the circumstances.

I didn't realize the ARP offering was of different dimensions. Thank you for clarifying. Are the ARP studs shorter or just the different 1/2"x20 thread pitch?

GA1R open lug with cap. Thought about other FL monoblock wheels but few are load rated for R comp tires. I track this car and want strong wheels that will handle loads while still looking great. This is not a car you want to throw on non load rated wheels and hit the track hard. Will it work?..yes...until is doesn't. The latter makes for an ugly day. My .02
I'd love to see some photos when you have those on. Real curious how that looks!

Fellas - I honestly never knew how difficult it was going to be to replace the wheels on this thing. A guy can get confused pretty quickly. I just don't want to fuck up a 20k set of wheels/tires.

ARP doesn't typically release studs in the same length as factory but they usually match size/pitch. There have been issues on S550 cars that use downsized studs in concert with spacers. Note - I'm not discrediting the use of spacers but rather pointing out that there have indeed been failures with this combination on S550's.

Caliperfexion could offer up an upgrade and is looking into whether or not Ford Racing is going to offer GT350 specific hubs with extended studs pre-installed as well as studs for the rear. I'll be at PRI and hope to be able to uncover which direction Ford is likely headed.

Again, ARP studs are typically longer than stock. In this case, some are supplying a reduced diameter stud with a knurl size to fit the S550, such as the ARP studs linked in this thread. They are very well done and have worked for any number of individuals that have chosen to use them. But they are approximately 1mm smaller in diameter. They have recently release some S550 studs in M14 but not necessarily in lengths that will work on GT350's.

I'm thinking of the Ga1R Forgelines as well. I love the R wheels and will try to change them out with MPSS first.

I really don't mind the studs or the exposure, they are what the car came with. When I put the stock wheels on for track duty wouldn't one want to keep the stock studs if any potential warranty issues were to arise?

I agree w/JN66 - I'll wait till there is a legitimate solution not a bunch of cosmetic solutions and potential downgrading/engineering to solve an exposed stud that is in fact stock/OEM.

Again, to each it's own and doesn't bother me one bit. It's not a show car to me.

There may be a rust problem with exposed studs. If you keep them clean, it shouldn't be a problem but watch out for rust.

Hmm, ok... but you've already "downgraded" the car's stock engineering by adding the 6g wheels. I can't begin to tell you just how many times stock studs fail...

You can bet on this though... when I do replace my studs, the dexterity of the studs I will be going with will match or exceed the stock stud capabilities.

Wheels not too concerned, just for winter/street use. . Not track.
Freeway speeds at a max, residential speed bumps - think I'm all good with the 6G wheels until Summer.

As someone in the industry of service, particularly mechanical . . studs play a major role and are not something you just swap/put in without a lot of engineering to back them up.

Studs/nuts are not a cosmetic item as some seem to prioritize on this thread.

We all have or own taste, so let's just leave it at that. Some aren't happy with the stock wheels, shifter and a slew of other things these car came with - and that's fine by me, to each their own.

Yep they fail.....a few theories as to why these failed. Note: These are not from my car.

Posted on another forum:

I have a confirmed stud breakage on a GT350.* This car has been driven at 13 track days.* The manual states the torque specification is 150 ft lbs + or - 15 ft lbs. Torqueing to 135 is within spec and I'm not going beyond that on my car.
