I wanted to share my story incase others run into a similar problem.

Few days ago I noticed my launch control light flickering off and on. Didn't have any check engine light.

I've read through many forums asking questions about LC and similar problems with it flickering or not working at all.

I noticed the fuel pump priming noise (rapid fire) when opening the driver door sounded different (wining sound) and a slight reduction in performance.

I got a code P018c on my odb reader. So "engine off" I tried reseating the connector on the low pressure fuel sensor and the (LC) light came on solid for a while the started flickering again. I've done this a few times, but it finally went off and stayed off.

Today I replaced the low pressure fuel sensor BU5A-9F972-BA with BU5A-9F972-CA.

Cleared the code and started the car. The fuel priming sound is back to the rapid fire sound. My LC light stays lit after reaching 175f and the car is pulling stronger.

I read forums and seen videos about replacing the sensor early on to prevent the ECOBOOM.

So, anybody else that has launch control flickering off and on without check engine lights. Plug in a reader and check for the p018c code. Replace that sensor.

I just installed Cobb Stage 1 91 octane. I suspected I'd see a code when I could read it, and I'm getting the P018C code. I also seem to have the low idle with full tank issue as well. I only noticed this is the only time it seems to happen now that I know to look. I've filled it three times now and it's lowered the idle each time. To the point it make me think it wants to stall. Trying to make sure this is what I need.

The p018c code is definitely a low pressure fuel sensor fault. As for the stutter and almost stalling after fueling it sounds like the evap purge solenoid.

The only one I found on the full tank thing was throwing code P1450. But I'm not throwing that code. He replaced a " Fuel vapor return valve". That is tied to my Turbosmart BOV now as the vaccum line I believe.

Maybe stupid question. But if it's a Ford part that has gone bad on these cars for 6 years now, why should I buy another Ford part. Anyone had any luck with the $35 on Amazon. I'm afraid they're cheap. But I really question Ford's ability to make this part, or their supplier anyways.

I felt the same way, but I went oem because I don't much trust the quality of aftermarket parts. I haven't had the low pressure fuel sensor problem since replacing it with the ford part, but that doesn't mean it will never go bad.

I found a couple reviews on Amazon for the cheap one. One said it cleared his CEL, the other said it threw a CEL the minute he installed it. I don't like 50/50 odds on something people are saying can cause "ecoboom". Guess it's OEM for me as well. Ordered and waiting, lol.

Thanks for the help.
