Not sure how much knowledge that you have about the 2015 R's but there were just 37 cars produced in total with just 6 of those cars coming as Base R models with Bill Ford having 1 of those 6 Base R's namely chassis "F0001" therefore suggest that car will never come up for sale.

The chances of getting a Base R model for the 2015 MY are very slim to say the least and if one of those elusive cars did come up for sale I suggest that you would need some very deep pockets in order to secure.

A few interesting facts is that the 2015 GT350/R's all had a Shelby logo car cover provided as "Standard Equipment" whereas all of the 5 subsequent years it was a free standing option .

Secondly, Ford decided not to include an "R" in the chassis plate number for the 2015 R's whereas they did include an "R" in the chassis plate number for the next 5 MY's.

Lastly, all the chassis numbers for the 2015 GT350/R's had exactly the same number sequence as the last 3 VIN numbers for each of these cars with none of the 137 cars being exported to Canada or abroad.

For the 2016 MY there were 526 R models built but just 64 Base R's assembled.

I suggest that the 2016 MY is by far your best chance of landing a Base R model for the first two MY's and if you send me a PM with your contact information I can try to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!

Can you expand on this or it there a thread about it?
@TENTEX - It seems that there was a bit of a mishap on the factory floor the day my car was built and it was adorned with the incorrect chassis plate. My car is a HEP-R and has a non-R chassis plate. To my knowledge there is another HEP R that resides in CA with the same 'error'. I believe it was delivered out of Sunnyvale. Harry the Oracle or Ben can likely support it's existence and whereabouts.
