Anyone have a stock driveshaft that they want to sell? I am going back to stock from a Gforce unit. Thanks

I've had two different driveshafts both brand new. One from DSS and one from Gforce and NVH is a mess. They both vibrate at the same speeds 40-50 mph and 85+ and the rear view mirror is just a blur. It isn't two new DS's that were installed within 3 weeks a part so I will just put a stock one back in and fuk it. This pisses the fuk outta me after $1600+ in DS's and my luck is serious NVH. I have NOTHING done to the rear end. It's 100% stock still too so nothing to blame there.

Man don't go off my car. Some have claims of no NVH from the one piece DS's. I will say that the Gforce one is a much better design IMO after installing both. The DSS I needed a helping hand to pull on the rear to get the DS to seat up to the rear end. The Gforce went right in without any help. I wouldn't cancel just yet because of my experience. Heck you may be just fine. I haven't called DSS or Gforce yet but I will.

Brent,

Have you pulled the drain plug on the rear and checked the consistency of the rear diff fluid to check for metal flakes?

If you have tried (2) driveshafts, both different manufacturers AND you already went through trying to clock both the best you could - the problem very well could be the rear diff gears have worn into a pattern where the NVH was less (or almost non-existent) with the stock DS in place.

Here’s some questions:
1) When you tried clocking each DS, did you clock at both the front and rear flanges, or only at rear?

2) Did you try the tip/trick with shimming the trans mount (since you’re dealing with a single DS, you would only shim trans mount - if you were dealing with a 2-piece DS like stock, you could also shim the center carrier support).

Once you go to an aftermarket DS, 1-piece design, you’re talking about different materials used in those DS, lighter overall weight variances, as well as how each was balanced by the manufacturer. When you’re installing either aftermarket DS into your car, the rear gears in your car already have a specific wear pattern - not just from use, BUT from the weight and rotating mass of the original stock DS.

You probably have read the HUGE driveline/DS vibe thread in the other sub-forum on here - and I posted extensively in there about my prior 2016... but to make it short - my 2016 had the vibes EXACTLY in the same MPH/RPM range as yours. Ford replaced my trans flange, then the rear pinion flange - car still had excessive NVH. They then replaced the original DS #1, with a brand new DS #2 which was still original design; a few thousand miles later - still had vibes with the stock design. They then replaced the DS #2 with DS #3, which by then was a newly revised DS due to (2) internal Ford SSM’s that exist.... The NVH was still persistent....

Then finally, the car went back again and when they popped the rear diff drain plug, the Tech and a Ford FSE found there was metal or metallic debris in the gear fluid. That warranted a complete 3.55 rear end replacement (entire housing w/ gears and pinion flange). After a few thousand miles, the NVH came back again - at which point, I was fed up and requested my 2016 be taken back by Ford due to the excessive warranty issues and an unfixable driveline vibe. This was a persistent issue from about 1900 miles until it was over 36k...

It’s very possible yours has or had the notorious vibe but it was not as pronounced UNTIL you installed the lighter 1-piece DS’s...

Cobra jet, man thanks for your detailed information. What my issue ended up being was that the trans mount needed .125" of shims between it and the chassis and the vibration is 100% gone now.
