So orange and red clash in my opinion so I wanted my tail lights to be tinted. When I bought the car it had the pre-cut tint on them as well as every other light and marker on the car. It still wasn't dark enough for me so I installed the American Muscle plastic covers. I had these on the car for a year or two but they never really sat well with me. They felt cheap and took away from the iconic look of the Mustang tail lights. So with all this non-essential time I decided to go another route. I removed the lights, plastic covers, Velcro, tint and all the glue residue. Once the lights were returned to stock I taped them up and did three even coats. My fear here mostly was making both tail lights evenly tinted. Also, I did not tint the underside of each fin to allow more tail lights to escape when braking. I had my F150 upgraded LED tail lights sent off for tint and they came back perfect, better than these. I think I was more bored more than anything and wanted a project but still happy with the outcome. Again, I do not recommend VHT over having them professionally tinted. Here are some pics from start to finish as well as my F150 lights that I had painted and tinted. -Shane
