Have the 8.8 from my 2000 GT that’s been out of the car for a few years. Needed a full rebuild so before I moved and had to drop the project, I ordered a Motive full bearing kit and FRPP trac lok rebuild (carbon clutches). It’s a little 28 spliner, but it’s been a trooper. Probably should have replaced the spider gears but if I can accomplish getting the axle assembled in a few days I’ll be happy with that.

Axle is in the car.

This was today’s fun - it cranked and died after about 20 seconds a couple of days ago. Didn’t hear the pump prime and used a voltmeter to check for power at the pump. It was getting juice so I knew the pump was gone. It’s been sitting for a few years.

Well, my time is complete with the project for now.

In addition to the above, I did the following:

New calipers up front
Rear brake rotors (thought I tossed the old ones, later found them.. DOH!)
New battery

I definitely accomplished a lot. Rebuilt the entire rear end/installed, had the car on the ground and moved under its own power for the first time in about 7 years.

Hoping I will get the opportunity to further work on this and if I am fortunate, I am thinking up some big plans to one day execute on this car.

I will say this... a whole flood of memories came back as soon as I was able to drive this thing and man, I had a lot of good times with this car. And the 2V sounds so damn good!!!
