We are going to address this once and move on, as I believe forum politics has no place on the site.

Some have noticed that links to the SVTP website are blocked on Mustang6G. Why? They would have you believe it is a grudge against the site. It is not. Even despite the hostility shown by its community.

Recap:

1. Earlier this year, an M6G member created a thread that copied and pasted one of their articles. No link was provided in the post.

2. The next day, another member posted an SVTP-watermarked image of a RHD S550 -- a car that had already been photographed and posted on M6G months prior. No text or links were provided in the post.

3. A few days later, Mustang6G received two separate takedown notices from our ISP regarding these posts:

"Photos and text from SVTP have been posted without authorization in the following thread:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php/5-0l-whipple-3220.html

Please remove the offending thread and make sure no other material belonging to SVTP has been posted without authorization on your website.

Regards,
SVTP Admin Team"
A few things.

First. Any suggestion that this is industry practice is flatly wrong. Industry practice is to request a truncated post and/or link. The takedown request we received was a directive to remove all content. Up until this point content and links to SVTP were allowed.

Second. With the exception of spy photographers, it is commonly accepted that watermarked, undoctored and unaltered images posted without any copied text can be shared freely. The watermark itself provides credit to the originating site. We will not require M6G members to provide a link when posting watermarked images or subject them to allegations of copyright infringement.

Third. We are not going to waste the time of our moderators and staff members to monitor the site for "unauthorized" posts to another website or respond to further takedown requests. It is simple; this applies to all sites -- if you want your content removed from Mustang6G, it will simply not be allowed in the first place.

Final thing. Any casual observer can see that our images and content have been repeatedly posted on SVTP and other sites with no link or other credit provided. Kettle and pot issue here.

As stated, this is the one time this issue will be addressed. Going forward any further posts on this topic will be removed and directed here. And to clear up other misinformation -- nobody on this forum has ever been banned for mentioning any site.

This is a Mustang forum, let's stick to the cars we love and leave the forum mudslinging for others to engage in.
