The only time I've used Line Lock is on the drag strip and quite frankly I always use street summer tires 'cuz I'm not that serious about drag racing, and I actually launch better if I just do a sort of quick clutch kick and spin the tires in front of the wet patch to give them a clean. If I roast my Coopers, they tend to grip less off the line. The same was the case with Nitto Invos, which are generally awful tires IMO, except for being quiet. I went to a strip once with the Pirelli tires but back then had so much wheel hop I quickly stopped and just took pictures...

What I do to ensure that I'm spinning tire and not burning clutch (paranoid) is to put the side mirrors down all the way which allows me to see each tire spinning.
