Can someone with a UK car show me a picture of their car at night?

In our different markets we typically have different light laws, and I remember something from my prior Pontiac GTO (Vauxhall Monaro)

At night with the lights on the outer globes for the "parking lights" weren't on for a UK or OZ model, but they were for a US model.

I'm wondering if this is the same on our Mustangs. I reason I ask is because I never really cared for the parking lights being on at night, especially since the US models have the headlight gills illuminated anyway. It's even more since I've converted my car to a Roush, as the foglights have been relocated and no longer are part of a big blob of light under the headlights.

I'd like my parking lamps to not be illuminated normally, but still light up as a turn signal. It's easy to rewire this, but I wanted to at least see how it might look like, and I suspect yours are like this.

As a reference, this is how my car looks in the "parking lamp" mode. With the headlights turned on nothing changes, except the headlights are also on.

So then I have the gills, the headlights, the parking lamps and the foglights all on. Seems like overkill.

cheers!

These are a couple of pics from our resident mechanic - hope you don't mind Gibbo205

The first one is side lights only
The second is how the lights would look at night, the gills don't light up for us but when the headlamp is on, they appear to glow.

Our DRL's are built into the foglamps and don't show with the side/main lights on.

I'm not a fan of the current crop of highly vajazzled running lights that make indicators impossible to see for other motorists and pedestrians. The US spec tri bar ones are great but if we can't have those and a retrofit is super expensive I would prefer NO sidelights thanks EU rule makers/car makers.
Is there a soft configure option to turn them off or do I just have to cut the wires and put them on bullet connectors?
I'm assuming these terrible things are now a legal requirement so will need re connecting come MOT time, hence I would prefer the easiest option.
Has anyone else faced this problem or am I alone in my hatred of being run over by people using invisible indicators?

Your day running lights are the tri bars, which as previously mentioned we dont get (leds aren't even there). Our day running lights are down in the fog light cluster, an extra bulb which sticks up from the bottom.
The indicator (turn signal :D) cluster which you can fit switchbacks to are also different in ours, its seperated off into the indicator bulb and a tiny square side light bulb.
Normal daily operation the day running light in the fog clusters are on, when you indicate the side you're indicating on turns off while the indicator is flashing, when the indicator is no longer flashing the day running light turns back on. When the headlights are on the day running lights are off but also the little square side light is on.
