I know it will probably not happen but how much weight can you save if Ford decided to go with a 100% aluminum body on the Mustang. The f-150 saved 700lbs. If you could save 400-500 lbs on the mustang it would have a big impact on performance. What do you guys think!

On my 2016 GT350 track pack I dropped 201 pounds off the stock weight of 3791 pounds.

My diet plan is:
Forgeline GA1R open lug wheels 11x19
Michellin pilot sport cup 2 305/30ZR19
DSS Carbon fiber driveshaft
ARH headers, catless X pipe
Recaro profi spa carbon fiber seats
GT350R rear seat delete
Braille battery

I could drop more if I used the aluminum differential.

Ford could drop more weight by using aluminum doors, aluminum trunk deck lid, aluminum K-member, aluminum front control arms, aluminum IRS cradle, aluminum wiring harnesses, forged aluminum wheels, aluminum / carbon fiber driveshaft, aluminum hat rotors, aluminum steering knuckles, carbon composite core support.

If the next mustang doesn't lose a significant amount of weight, Ford's not doing it right
Agreed, they need to shed some pounds. If they did it for the F150, why not the Mustang?

Can I be nosey and ask what all that cost?

D*mn Voodooo, that is some pounds sheddin' you did there, and while I agree with all the things you listed that Ford could change by using aluminum, it might put the cost above what people would want to/could pay.

Since they already purchase so much aluminum I could see doing it if they combined it with another big seller like the escape or fusion. Possibly get a big enough discount to justify going that route and offset much of the cost increase for the consumer. If they did that dropping 300 to 400 lbs would be easy, stiffer chassie and a small price increase over the s550. If they went that route combined with the rumored new 4.8L engine I would happily pay $35k to $37k for a base model S650 GT. Oh an a cooler color palette as well.

Sure.
Forgeline wheels and Michellin pilot sport cup 2 $7800
ARH long tubes, off road X pipe $1500 (stock GT350 mufflers)
R rear seat delete $2100 (because I didn't wait and was the first to buy it before ford performance offered it)
DSS carbon driveshaft $1100
Recaro profi carbon seats $4800 pair (on order still waiting)
Braille part # GU1R battery $550

I believe ford did that to the f150 to help meet newer CAFE MPG standards.
The super duty is also aluminum now. Not all of the body but most of if is.

Which part isn't? The cab is from the F150 so that part is.

The F150 and super duty do not share the same cab.
The firewalls are high strength steel
