Is it too soon to be conditioning the leather? The #1 thing I hate the most about cars that age are hard leather steering wheels. It's my first car and I want to keep this wheel soft and smooth for as long as possible. I bought some Armor All Leather care gel and some microfiber towels. Is it a good idea to apply some already? Also it says not for use on unfinished leather, but these cars don't have that right?

this seems like a good place to ask vs. a new thread. Thinking of getting a leather steering wheel cover to protect the leather of the factory steering wheel. Over time, sweat, oils, grime, etc will turn the leather on the original steering wheel nasty.

A steering wheel cover is a generic item, but are there cool ones that says Mustang or Ford on them?

Don't know about no smell... I use the Opticare leather cleaner, and it smells like yummy leather. So it does smell like a new car.

I traded in my 2011 Taurus that had a leather wheel. Over the 62k miles i put on my car, the leather on the wheel turned shiny, and i only cleaned and conditioned it maybe 6 times in the 3 years i owned it. It didn't look like it was fading or cracking. As long as you clean and condition it every so often it'll still look like new.
