Since we have threads on watches and a few other bougie or niche things, how bout a good thread on fancy knives. Anyone into that as well? I'm a big Benchmade fan and have a small collection with only one of their fancy ones. Have a $750 Mini Osborne (the blue/forged carbon one w/ Damascus blade). Also just got into fixed blades and got my first fancy one of those from Montana Knife Co. Have already used this one on some light camping stuff and some food stuff and I am beyond impressed. So impressed, I just bought their kitchen knife set and a set of steak knives. Photo's of those once they get here; should be this Thursday.

My newest dd, and favorite so far (only because it's the newest) is the blue full size Bugout.

With you on Benchmade. I have two of those one of which is my EDC. Also still carry a folder EDC. If anyone needs a blade that is the one I loan. Never loan the Benchmade. I have a few collectors pieces and a custom by a local blade smith, DI Knives.

Have carried a blade everyday of my life since I was about nine years old. And that is a long time.

nice, also been carrying since about 9 years old…was a huge Kershaw fan until they went offshore, then found the Zero Tolerance titanium and have carried that for almost ten years, as a heavy knife in pilot uniform tends to draw the passengers eyes 🤪

just started dabbling in Benchmade as well, but I tend to buy one and run it for as long as possible 😬

here’s my question, what are y’all using to sharpen? I have tried all different types, from the Wicked Edge to Wasabi and keep coming back to the good old fashioned Lansky triple stone setup…it just works.

I don't remember a time I didn't have an EDC knife. I even taught my daughter to not date a guy that doesn't carry, lol!

I've never attempted to self sharpen one of my good knives. I've tried it on garbage kitchen tools and some CRTK knives I used to carry, but not on anything nice. It's a skill. Mine go back to the factory shop as many/most top end knife companies come with no questions sharpening for life.

I'm a big fan of my Lansky! Reshape edges, and perfect angles!

oh man, you’re missing out, as it’s therapeutic as hell! there’s nothing quite like sitting down at the end of the day and slowwwwwly sharpening a knife or three, while the family watches another frickin hallmark movie…and then start mumbling to yourself like Slingblade 😋

Picked up a Worksharp many years ago and use it to dress up knives. Use it on everything and carry it in my pack while hunting. Keeping an edge sharp is easier than letting them get to where they need to be redone. And, yes, it took some time to learn how to do it properly.
I used Arkansas Stones for many years and was never disappointed with them.

My MKC kitchen cutlery came in. The packaging alone was worth the price of admission (I’m a sucker for good packaging). The leather rolls for these things is nothing short of spectacular and the smell alone is amazing. Heck, struggling to decide where to put the leather rolls just for the smell.

OK, one more and this is it...for now, lol. But this mother trucker right here is beyond bad aasssss. The carbon work is unbelievable, and the blade is just insane. Titanium screws, all the little details that make a product like this.
