Keep modded 2005 or buy a 2015?

^This. You never get your money back out of mods, and they sometimes reduce value. Decide how long you'll keep the '05 before you do ANYthing optional to it (maint = not optional).

If you decide on 2 years, spend on mods the amt you don't mind taking a bath on at the end if that time.

Your purchase of the '05 is a sunk cost - can't do anything about it. All you can do now is make intelligent decisions about future spending.

For now I'm just going to save and the only thing that I need to spend on the 05 is the tires that it badly needs.

Once we get the final specs on the 15 and I can test drive I'll make a decision.

Yup, just save every penny you've got. The mods for the 05 will be there after the 15 is released, so what will hurt waiting a few more months??
