Has anyone installed these themselves with any luck? I've found some info around the site but not a lot of results. Is this too difficult for a novice?

I've seen this YouTube video with great info on how to do it, but the end result isn't great. I couldn't live with those wrinkles

I also found this from Katzkin. They use a similar method as the video above with some key changes. Maybe using the method they suggest will allow for a better outcome?

I just installed the seats and I would really like to do the door panels too, but I dont want to ruin them in the process. Replacement door panels aren't cheap

I would just get the material and have an upholstery shop do it. A lot of the seats I see are wrinkled as well and look horrible which is why, when my leather center sections get stretched out, I'll get a shop to segment in some perforated alacantara, or houndstooth, or plaid center sections and matching door inserts.
That’s probably what I’ll end up doing. I’m in SoCal, there’s an Upholstery shop on every corner practically. It’s just in my nature to try and do it myself.
Hopefully someone comes along and shares their experience with doing it themselves but it’s looking like I’ll be looking for a shop.
thanks for the reply
