I just spent probably 6+ hours replacing the front 3.5s with Infinity Reference 3032CFXs, Powerbass L2-6C 6.5s in the front and Kicker 46CSC674 6.75s in the rear side panels. I also used Kilmat liberally on the doors and also the spare tire wheel well in the trunk.
When I installed the 6.5s and 6.75s, I also used CCF weatherstripping around the mounts to create a enclosure to project the sound directly into the cabin. After a long day, my mind became mush and I didn't end up doing the same for the 3.5s. Was this a big mistake? I'll take the doors back off tomorrow if I need to, but I want to make sure this is necessary or not.
Anyone that has replaced their 3.5s mids also add weatherstripping or skip it? Is it a big deal?
TIA
