I really like the Cobra! How did you get the rain tray smooth before paint?
Kevin B
Thanks, a friend made the cobra for me. The person who painted it just sanded it smooth first. You could do the same, if you wanted to paint it yourself.

Wheels ceramic coated and on. I wish I had some good quality photos to show you guys, and not just iPhone pictures, but they are pretty decent. I have ordered CFTP front springs do drop the front 1/2". That should nail the wheel gap, and stance.

I installed my CFTP front springs today. Between the 1" taller tire (1/2" top, and 1/2" bottom), and the 1/2" drop from the springs, I have a visual drop of 1" in the front.

The rear tire is also 1" taller than stock, which is a visual drop of 1/2" in the rear.

All this without loosing any front ground clearance, and gaining 1/2" in the rear (not n needed, just sayin lol)

Now that the front tires aren't lost in the wheel well, I put the wicker bills back on. To me, they made the stock front offset look worse, so I didn't use them.

Also installed my Signature Wheel Titanium Lug Nuts.

I finally put to use the strut tool I picked up (FOR $40!!) last year. This thing rocks, it made swapping the springs easy as pie!

Thanks for the detailed information and documentation of what you have done. A great inspiration for when my 500 finally arrives. It's finishing it's build in the next day or two. And you have done many of the parts that were on my list.

And love the performance blue, that's the color mine is coming in too!

When I installed the CFTP front springs, I also installed the adjustable strut mounts. I spent the past week dialing in front & rear camber. Its quite a pain to get dialed in perfectly, and evenly because the adjustments are done with basically a slide hole, and not a cam style turn adjustment. This makes the camber change every time you try to tighten the bolt.

I have plenty of experience with aftermarket camber adjustment like Steeda. Their rear adjustable arms do make things much easier, I just didn't want to go down that road this time. Once camber is set, I will never touch it again. Luckily (or not) I have the tools, and determination to spend the time to get it perfect. My son will take it to work one day this week for a "toe & go" alignment to get the toe set correctly, as this has the most detrimental affect tire wear.

On a test drive/errands with the wife, I took a couple quick pictures of the stance. I had also just wiped it down for the first time with the Xpel ceramic boost that came with the PPF/ceramic that was applied a few months ago. I am blown away with how great this made the car look. These pictures with my phone really do not capture how nice the finish looks.

I am happy to know that I have helped in some way :like:

I look forward to you getting your car, and watching you experience and mold your car to the way you want it. Great color choice I must say! This color is so underrated in my opinion.

I have been experimenting with using magnets to hold the rain tray to the heat vent, instead of screws. The idea is to be able to remove/re-install the rain tray quickly. I like to leave it off, but want the ability to pop it on quick incase of rain, or washing the car, or when showing the cobra decal at a car show. The magnets grab and hold the rain tray very well, and installation/removal is a breeze.

I have a non painted rain tray that I am going to put some magnets on as well. I will test drive with it in place, incase it doesn't stay, so I don't ruin the painted one. I can't be positive, but I would like to think the air current under the hood is going to help hold the rain tray in place, not pull it off, but we shall see.

My intention was to not drive with this in place, but to use it when washing the car, or showing the car. I do however want to know if it will hold while driving.

The magnets & VHB double sided dots are rated to 300Âş

My little assistant helped by recording a short video of how it works. Please disregard the COVID 20 I gained
