I'm waiting until it nears 40 degrees to buy winters. So far my P zero's have dropped 3-4 psi from the cold.
HAHA mine too. I got a low pressure warning light yesterday morning. I'll keep the Pzeros all winter and just drive the car when it's decent out. I have a big, white Dodge van for the bad days. It's like driving a snowbank.

It has been around 40 leaving work in the mornings lately, the Pirelli's weren't doing it. I put Cooper Zeon RS3-A on last week, got them for $600 shipped. Much better traction in the morning.

The downside was they found my RF wheel is out of round while mounting the tires, waiting on Ford to finish the warranty claim to get a new wheel.

Living in Cali, I will 99% leave them on year round. I HATE the heat here though. I would easily trade getting snow tires or all terrain tires for some cold weather.

but for SC. lol

Maryland here and the high today should be about 51*. I'll be switching to Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06. I'm trying to get all I can out of the Pirellis though as they still have good tread. I need to do it soon though!
I am in northern VA and am contemplating the same. I may order this week

Does cold weather alone affect how tires perform?

From my understanding yes. The rubber compound is not designed to perform in cold weather. I notice mine get hard and slick. Is it like driving on ice? Not yet but I wouldn't want to drive them on a wet road in 35 degree weather. Dry road and 40? Sure but I wouldn't get aggressive. I have an auto too so it's a little easier not to get sideways.

Makes me laugh that they are fitting these tyres for us in rainy cold Britain.

After paying a lot more for our Mustangs then you lot in the US, we'll still have to spend $1600 or more to swap the tyres to something more suitable and then we'll have the expense of our first gas fill up :D
What? 1600? I bought 4x Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 which are top notch winter performance tires for 800 Euros.

I'll be doing the changeover on the first week of November. Haven't decided what tires yet.

I have a winter car so my GT will be getting stored soon. Last night leaving work Temps were touching 35 here in WI. The Pzeros got zero traction. Merging onto the freeway I was able to spin 4th as soon as I hit 4000-4500 rpm. Needless to say I would be changing tires if I were to daily my car in the winter.

Kentucky - high of 59 degrees today. I checked out the tire pressure gauge and saw that it's dropped 2 psi in 2 of the tires. I'm looking at getting some All-Weather Ultra Performance tires (Continental DSW06(?)) since it will likely be wet more so than snow.

Still using summer rubber in the northeast. I will be keeping them on my GT............ Minimal driving in weather below 40 degrees. My GT will not be driven in snow/ice conditions. Braking is reduced with summer rubber used under 40 degrees. If i was using the car all the time, winter wheels would be placed..........:headbang:
