I may have missed it, but am I the only one wondering how the Kia Soul got totaled? And at such a perfect time?

I don't know what happened but if it was a single car accident do you think a Mustang is the best car of choice if you can't keep a Soul on the road?

If the "accident" was not your fault, then I'll apologize and take my keyboard to the next thread.

Got some exciting news for you guys!

We just applied through Bank of America for 72 months at $22,000 (down payment included) and my mom was primary and I was joint applicant. We got an approved APR for 2.8%! Definitely lower than I was expecting

So now what.... Go to the Ford dealership with my loan in hand and tell them if Ford Credit can beat it, we will finance through them?

I'm excited for next week!
Do not tell the FI guy what rate they approved you for. Tell him to hit you with his best shot and that you'll say yes/no, but either way you have financing.

Edit: Also, why the hell aren't you buying used? That in love with the new one? If so that's fine, but a last-gen v6 premium with various packages goes used for 15-20k all day long. 24k could get a GT track pack with low miles - a vastly better car than a new v6, styling excepted. New car at this stage, even with your fat check from the Kia, is mostly dumb, but I posted this in your previous thread as well. Good luck with your purchase.

If the accident wasn't his fault then yes, the timing is perfect to grab a new set of wheels if the insurance company wont replace with like-for-like.

If it was his fault I'd strongly suggest advanced driving lessons if those are a thing in the USA (car control, accident avoidance, high speed maneuvering etc.)

If he's BS-ing then its almost a repeat of what my older brother did in the late 90s/early 2000s. :D Sacks of debt totaling around ÂŁ10k/$15k (about $20k in today's money) because he hoped from car to car being very impatient.

Not to sound like a negative nancy but I feel it pertinent to append some extra cautionary tidbits to Slade's post.

No problem at all. Append away. I just moved from a 13 year position where I was an investigator and I tend to see "issues" everywhere. :eyebulge:

And there I was trying not to post: "I thought we concluded in the previous thread that it was not a good idea for him to get one."

Yep, I agree..I was one of the naysayers in that..it's just this coincidence of a totaled car popping up that had me scratching my head.

So, in truth..I'm not investigating any fraud, so it's not my business...I'm out...:frusty:

The accident with my Soul was a no-fault on my end because I collided with a vehicle at an intersection because she ran the red light.

Other than all that, I'm stoked about Thursday and it's going to be my goal to get them to drop off AT LEAST $2,000 of the sticker price.

I got over $2k off my V6 but that's with options on it. Dealers weren't budging much on base models. Good luck.

If you're using X plan you can already look at the price of the vehicle, there's no negotating x plan pricing. You're in FL and dealer fees are high without X Plan.

I'm a man of my word...I apologize for any implied misgivings. I'm glad no one was hurt. I hope you get the best deal possible and have a great and safe time.

Alright guys, I am already negotiating with some dealers. I'm gonna need to make a decision very soon before tomorrow night, however.

What do you guys think about this offer a saleswoman responded with?

051a? Sorry if I missed it?
Last time I checked in, it's still the regular V6 model but with that enhanced security system that toggled another $395 on.

fixed so people don't have to go to a tiny pic link like it's 2005 lol

but tire and battery fee??? lol

you can beat that xplan pricing for the car if you just take your time to research and find a dealer that will do it and be willing to travel. seen base v6's like i said go as low as 23k but you gotta be willing to travel to whatever dealer can do it...if not x plan +500 is best you're going to get anywhere...xplan will be the same anywhere but lol battery fee.

If the dealer is adding fees, it's definitely not X Plan pricing.
