I'm intending to keep it for a good few years.
I was told today that the extended warranty is only available to the point of collection, not afterwards. Which sounds odd, but there we go.

I got the run down on the Ford and dealership service plans. That one is *more* expensive than Ford's!
Yes, you have to take out the extended warranty before you pick it up, I went with both

That is indeed what it says on the price list. But, since the sales person gets some commission on it, mine was happy to sell it to me many months after I picked it up...

so always worth asking if you want it.

Well I decided to go for the 5yr extended warranty (maybe slightly influenced by finding out from Mercedes this morning that my wife's car needs some parts replaced to the tune of ÂŁ1,600), and the service plan as that seems to save some money too.

Pick it up Saturday!!

Picking my Mustang up tomorrow and can't wait! :)

I think everything is sorted - have all the bits for the price ready, cash in place, Ford insurance ready, list of things to check ready from Manders thread.

Just need to get it detailed and paint protected - happening next week - and get an aluminium plate ordered.

What's the view generally on running in?
I asked this before and had a few answers from rag it from day 1 to easing it up over 1k miles. Any general thoughts?

Similarly on brakes - some say take it easy for 100 miles, others say total 10 hard stops, 2 each from 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 mph.
Any ideas??

Collected the Mustang today - big thanks to Think Ford at Guildford for everything going smoothly on the pickup and px.

I've put about 60 miles on the clock today / the most frustrating 60 miles as I'm taking it easy for the first 500 - I just wanna keep revving that engine!

First pic, will be more...

Perspective for the benefit of all the 'slow red' owners as this is the view they'll get while being overtaken ;)

On a more :frusty: note, showing the car to my brother I just noticed some paint rubbed off the front bumper just over the grille on one of the corners

Sorry to hear about your paint rub. There is a really top class repair guy based in Pinkneys Green. I've used him for years. His main business is classic car restorations. Let me know if you want his number.

Hope to see you around Marlow. I work in Globe Park and the Mustang tends to come with me once a week or so.

So frustrating on the paint rub, pissed off I missed it yesterday at the pickup.
That would be great if I could get that number mate - thanks!

I'm sure I'll see you around - quite a few around Marlow now. Just around the corner from Globe Park there's one house with a magnetic fastback and next door to them has a competition orange!

Possible consequences of your comment re: Race Red. God loves a red car. ;)

Sorry you've got a paint issue. Are going to give the dealer a chance to make it right? Mine has a patch the size of an iPhone that's a different shade which no one else notices and I decided my dealer would only cock it up if I took it back, so I've decided it's an endearing birth mark. I'd have more faith in Guildford though. Hope you get it sorted.

I'll take that in the spirit it's meant :)

I'm emailing the dealership this evening, see what they say.
