mustang v8 r/h/d to come
when I plug my ipod touch into the usb port in the cubby box the sync 2 senses the ipod and plays tracks ok
but it does not charge the ipod at the same time
I always leave the ipod in the cubby box
obviously its a pain the arse having to take the ipod out at night to recharge
in my range rover it charges as well as connects to the system thru the usb port as standard
should the mustang be doing this and if so what cable do I need

The USB port is only energized why the car is on.. or when you open the door.. you will see the MFT screen come on.. the port will come on at that point.. but it won't charge overnight.

Now.. it should charge while playing and while driving even if it isn't the selected audio source. If it isn't charging while driving then I would reset the sync module and the iPod..

how do you reset the sync module and ipod
Easiest is to pull the fuse for sync.. and the iPod.. depends on what iPod you have.. but if its a touch its the same as an iPhone.. hold the home and power button own until the apple logo comes on again..if its an other you hold menu and the button in the middle of the wheel down and do the same.. wait for the logo to appear.
