I’ve actually noticed this after I bought the car but it never really bothered me but I have been doing a lot of research and I cannot figure out why my interior lights do not turn on when my doors are shut and engine is running..

The only time the interior lights work is when I shut engine off or if I open the door.. any advice will be appreciated

I'm confused. Are you saying your dome lights don't work? You hit the buttons and nothing happens?

If I’m driving and I hit the dome buttons they don’t turn on, if I open the visor the lights for the mirror don’t turn on either .. it’s really weird to me

There’s a thread about this in the interior modifications section for guys who have replaced their glove box, trunk or vanity mirror lights. Upon switching them out they blow a fuse and what you’re experiencing is the result. I can attest to this from my own experience with it. Your situation could be different from this but that’s what it sounds like to me. I replaced the fuse and it was fixed.

Did you buy the car used? Maybe the previous owner attempted changing interior lights and blew the fuse and never replaced it??

Yeah, check the fuses. Might be something as simple as that.

Replace fuse #1. But note they are mini fuses, smaller than the typical fuse.
