My Policy is 24 Months full replacement value.Keep in mind first 12 months is full replacement value.
Some offer 24 months full replacement value.
I insured for the maximum value that they would, given the long wait time for a replacement car. I figured that if it was written of in the first two years, I would have the option to pay more for a Dealer car that was marked up.
Seriously, this whole insurance things is a lottery. It's actually a Market - prices go up, prices go down all the time.
I don't know the exact details, but it's my understanding that ALL of the Insurance Companies in Australia fall under two or three Underwriters. It's a market full of products that confuse.
My advice is work out what you need covered, and what you expect if there's an issue. Call around and ask very clear questions as to what is and isn't covered.
If you buy on price of the Policy you may be screwed when it comes to a claim.
