Took about 30 minutes. Very easy to install. The tone and volume is exactly what I was looking for. Idle is maybe 2.5x louder; and as the rpms increase the difference from stock becomes more noticeable, but never gets "Nascar loud". None of that wet-throated rasp...and no drone. It has a nice deep growl...that becomes a deep roar from 3500 up. Noticeably louder than stock but not annoying. Before, with my radio on, I could not hear my engine and would sometimes forget to shift up when driving in stop-n-go traffic. Now its loud enough, under normal acceleration, that I can hear it over the radio; but not loud enough to interfere with my music. Also, it occasionally pops on deceleration...very discretely...enough to for a giggle here and there but not enough for folks to wonder whats wrong with your car. I am very happy with the Roush axleback system; thanks Beefcake!

So this system leaves the resonator? How was the fit?

Get rid of that resonator and you'll get even more deceleration pops. I can't get enough of that sound...

Did you go H or X pipe? Is it much louder without resonator?

Well, I'm talking in general. I don't have the roush axle back. Although, I'd like to swap my borla muffler for a roush, but it doesn't seem to be a direct fit. I'd have to go to a muffler shop for that, and I don't feel like being ripped off by the crooks in my town. (Sorry, end rant).

I am running an x-pipe though. H-Pipe changes the tone somewhat... makes it a little deeper. And yes, a resonator delete is going to make any system drastically louder. :D

I have read that the Roush systems quiet down a little after some time. I hope that doesn't happen; but if it does then I might add an H pipe.

I just pulled the trigger on the axle backs. I've never modified any cars I've ever owned and I think this is a start.:headbang:

You will enjoy the Roush axle backs. I had an x-pipe previously with factory mufflers and opted to keep the x-pipe on when adding the Roush kit. That only lasted a couple days. I went ahead and put the suitcase back on because of how loud it was with the x-pipe. I may try an h-pipe in the future but the x-pipe was too high pitched for my taste.

Watch out, the mod itch becomes very strong after you do your first, and next thing you know, your bank account is drained. :D

Much louder...LOL.

Here is my car with the Roush AB and resonator

Here is the Roush AB with Ford Racing resonatory delete x-pipe. This setup is as loud or louder than some long tube cars with a cat back. this is from inside the car, too. This setup will truly wake the dead.
