I'm getting a little concerned here. Talked to a Bama guy and he said to change my rev limiter back I'd have to reload the tune. Which means taking it back to stock and reloading it again. Well it still runs fine and still hits the rev limiter about 20% of the time. But unless I'm losing my mind the transmission is shifting completely differently than before. First time the shifts were crisp, now the are slow, rolling I've heard it described. Called Bama back and they must have been busy cause they told me to leave my number and they'ed call back. That was 10AM and I'm still waiting!:frusty:
Just a little advice from personal experience. I had a Lund 93 tune on my 15 GT. Loved it but upgraded to the Lund flex tune in January. I loaded it and gave it time to adjust. The thing ran like complete garbage. Shifts were jerky and erratic and it felt anemic. I reloaded the 93 Tune and called Beefcake. He said to reload the flex tune again. So I did and it has run perfectly for the past 10 months. Try reloading the factory tune and reloading the BAMA.

It's been a while since I've put a tune on a car, but unless I'm mistaken, to change anything you have to reload the tune. You'll also have to drive again for it to re-learn. Hope they get to you soon! Might not be a bad idea to just go back to stock until you get some clarity from Bama.
Yes, I did put the stock tune back in and let it idle about 5 minutes. Then reloaded the tune changing the rev limiter back to 7000 RPMs where it was originally. Still has all the same problems and one new one, trans is not shifting the same as it was. So now I'm back to stock for a 300 mile trip.

Just a Rousch CAI and it has a GT catback exhaust. It's 2 1/2 inch instead of 2 1/4 which is the stock v6 size. I don't know how much the flow is increased but my gas mileage went from 26.1 to 27.7, the Bama guy said it made no difference which I think means they don't know.

you have what I have but my CAI is the AiRaid closed in box with see though top, I went with MPT for my tune and boy what a diff. in the car. Before I got a tune I talked to my car club members the club is a mustang club and have cars from the 60's to present. moded out the door and stock like ours all of the members told me to stay away from Bama at all cost, they all told me to get a Lund Ngauge and a Lund tune but Lund was not tuning the 3.7 so I went with MPT and have not looked back at all and they hit the mark on the first tune, all I ask them to do was give me a firmer shift on my auto trans

Yes, I'm already starting to worry. I'm going to reload the tune today. One thing that worries me is the trans shifts, I've had the tune in the car twice and it shifted completely differently both times. Then I'll call and see if they have time to talk with me today. Wish me luck!

Should have done more research, Bama is trash. S550 has been out for a while now, no reason you should have any problems on a intake and exhaust only car. Pay $100 for the MPT tune and don't look back.

Let's not turn this into MPT vs the world...
Sorry but I've been without a computer for a couple of days which is why I've been quiet. Your right man, people who got a really good tune first time think that tuner is the best, and if you got a less than great tune then those guys haven't got a clue. It frankly amazes me that tuners can do as well as they do with what little information they have to work with. Probably any decent tuner with car in hand and a dyno to work with could a damn good job, so it's surprising how well they do with the info they have. Back to my problems, they say they wrote me new tunes in my last e-mail but I don't see them there. I e-mailed them back but got nothing back so far, I thought about calling them but don't even know if you can on weekends.

I disagree I did my research on all three tuners that were doing the 3.7 out of all of them the one stat stood out was MPT nothing bad with the others but after hearing others talk about the three of them MPT came out number one. Yes Bama give you tunes for life but is that worth the back and forth you need to do to get it right? his car is not a mod monster they should have been able to get it right the first time with no problems that's all I can say about them

Yes it is worth it to get it right. Just because a tune "feels" right does not make it 100% right nor does that translate into a better 1/4 mile or trap. I prefer a datalogged tune over a canned 1 size fits all tune. Any good tuner should at least do free lifetime naturally aspirated updates and not charge you 20 bucks just to look over it and say "nothing is wrong". Also keep in mind most "research" is subjective vs objective and revolves around 1-few person(s) experience which is not an accurate comparison. As far as 1/4 mile times + traps I'm not seeing anything MPT puts out as being "superior" to anything from Unleashed, Bama, Etc. just mostly pure opinion and hearsay. For example, I don't care about BAMA myself (and probably won't be using their tune) but there was still an S197 3.7 that ran healthy 13 flats on tune only with a BAMA tune + econo street tires so they must work decently when dialed in. Tuning = datalogging and re-datalogging. No two vehicles are the same. Repeating "They know their 3.7s" doesn't cut it.

I pretty much agree with both of you. No more mods than I have a tune should be pretty simple, and the only part of the tune giving me trouble is the trans shifting when and how it should. On most tunes there are not even any mods to consider when writing the trans part of the tune. All that is involved is when does it shift and how does it shift. Each tuner probably has a pretty much standard program for the shifting. And everybody is different, what I consider to be the perfect shift the guy next door will think is harsh and jerky. I'm just looking for a tune that improves how my car runs and drives without having to datalog my ass off for the next few months. As far as tuners any one of they is likely to hit a home run in any at bat as anyone else. By the way I called Bama again and the guy seemed completely unaware what my problem was even after calling someone to check. So I pretty much had to explain the whole scenario again. Told him the power was great but the trans was awful and not consistent both times I loaded it. I told him I'd rather have the stock trans tune than what they have given me. He said he'd write me a couple of new tunes and send them out, less than 10 minutes and I have them. Seems a little quick to me unless he did change me back to stock trans tunes. Getting oil changed tomorrow so the tune will wait until that's done. I have begun considering alternatives already, between MPT and Unleashed.:headbonk:

Hopefully those revised(?) tunes will work for you and that'll be the end of that. I agree that the one-size-fits-all is kind of a hit or miss depending on the person/vehicle and can be frustrating if problems arise.
