Just wanted to make my first post. I just ordered my first mustang in almost 20 years. I have been looking at ordering a corvette stingray or z06, but with the current issues I'm reading about with the lt1 and the $5000-12000 dealer tax on the soon to arrive z06's I have decided to pass on them for a year or two. I started looking at the 2015 mustang and absolutely love the new styling. I got just about all the options except park assist in ingot silver. I should find out later this week when I should be receiving the car. I'm hoping the revised 5.0 is as responsive to mods as the 11-14 5.0 I have been reading non stop about since deciding to go back to a mustang. I'm really interestd in seeing what the new high output mustang will be about too. If its anything like the hellcat output the z06 may wait longer than a year or two.

Look forward to seeing what others do with there cars.

I have been reading about issues with crank and or rod bearings going. I'm not up to speed with all the details, but I heard possibly something to do with the thrust bearing. On the same note I've read on the c7 corvette site that some of the people are having warranty issues with the motor problem on stock cars. A couple of cases I've read it said chevy was going to have it fixed, but the dealer was going to be doing the rebuild. Nothing against dealer mechanics, but I don't want to spend 65k to have a guy in the dealer build my motor. I'm paying 65k for a factory or robot to build it. That may be a harsh statement, but I know some dealer mechanics and wouldn't want them changing my brakes no less rebuilding my motor.

Good luck with that as some here who ordered in May/June are waiting to find out when their cars will be built. Grab a smoke, sit back and relax for a few months. :) Go to the Order/Price/Tracking forum and read the comments and concerns there!

They've had a few blow up thus far, including the engine in C&D's long term test car.

Not to mention the myriad other quality issues owners seem to be having right now; do a quick google search and there is page after page of owner complaints about various mechanical and paint and body issues.

And they just had a stop sale order on almost 3000 of them last month for airbag issues and parking brake cables.

GM's quality is still severely lacking IMO.

That's why I'm going to steer clear of the corvette for a little bit even though I absolutely love the new c7 body style.

A number of motors failing is an issue. I wonder if they are all Z51 models or if it affects the non-Z51 motor as well.

The other issues are not "LT1" issues. The fact that GM caught a few problems before delivery speaks to me that they may indeed have a focus on quality. A batch of a few thousand cars could be a one month run with a faulty supplier part.

Just wait, the issues with the S550 will be coming in soon. It is a fact of mass production, the numbers say there will be problems. I just recently read about body gaps on a S550 at a dealer. That is one area Ford needs to address if they truly wish to sell the Mustang world wide. These cars may be premium products in some markets and they need to exude premium quality.
