I finally got a Mustang! I spent a lot more than I intended to, but the GT's around here were disappearing fast, and I had to make my move for a Shaker and a 3.55 axle. The black + red seats set the hook, and after the usual several hours of paperwork, The Shark and I were on our way home, and for some reason it was a 75 mile drive back, instead of the usual 15 miles. Hmmm. Well, it's nice to meet you folks!

I know how you feel my friend. I didn't get my first till I was 61. Got it in March. I'm sure glad it just happened to be the 50th anniversary. I drove several earlier model rentals, but they were nowhere near as impressive as the 15 model Mustang.

OP, congrats on a beautiful car. And don't worry about the young person comment. The Mustang is "everybody's" car. It appeals to younger and older, male and female. You can see that on the road all the time. A teen passes you in one a few years old and then a minute later you see a business man with salt and pepper hair driving a new one. I think that is a great thing. I am 44 and on mustang number 5. Bought my first new one at 19. It was a 90 LX 5.0. So, I have played both sides. I have been a young'un in a new mustang and now I am a middle aged dude in a new one. If God lets me live to see 90, I'll be the dude putting his walker in the trunk of a mustang as he prepares to ride sally ride!

I am heading toward 50 myself in another few months, but I have owned at least one of every generation Mustang. I can only imagine how excited I would be had this been my first, considering how much I enjoyed it as about my 20th.

I'm waiting for my second mustang. My first I got new in 1965, a rangoon red hardtop with a 2 barrel 289 engine with a three speed, radio and spinner hubcaps. I was 17. Now 50 years later I am getting a 2016 Ruby Red Ecoboost convertible.

Very cool indeed my friend. I got the triple yellow eco. vert. You are gonna freak at the power in this car, compared to the old 2 barrel 289.
It still amazes me every time I drive it, that a 4 cyl. can have this kind of power. Of course the turbo, and direct fuel injection don't hurt either.
And the interior is awesome too. Have fun!
