If I don't use the tweeter in a component set, will it affect the woofer performance?

I want to upgrade the factory 6.5 door speakers (12 speaker 401a system). If I buy a component set but don't use the tweeter or crossover, will that negatively affect the 6.5 woofer?

Also very curious about this. I want to replace my 6.5"s badly but most options have tweeters for the A pillars. I really just want more bass inside the cab since I have a vert. I'm about to install my existing 12" sub in the trunk, but whenever the top is down it seriously lowers the bass passthrough to the cab with the existing factory sub, so I'm expecting similar even with my 12.

To answer, no. the driver (speaker) is not affected when there is no tweeter connected to the crossover.
