From what we've heard, some of the early production ones got "upgrades" due to parts shortages. No additional charge for the ones who accepted their cars.

That's a good catch, it looks like a 700A. But the VIN on the door matches the window sticker. It's probably a 40 minute drive south from where I work. If anyone was really interested I'd be willing to drive down and see it in person.

The dealer where I bought mine is at MSRP for M1s on the lot...1k below on special orders. He had a FJG HP not too long ago.

@dhborden is right i bet. shortages of cloth recaros, this one got a free upgrade. will make for an interesting conversation for the collectors some day that look at the window sticker and question why the car isn't "original". i wonder if there is any documentation about this?
