I'm feeling a bit disappointed in myself because I just couldn't stand waiting for my EB Mustang any longer. But on the upside.... Holy mother of God I bought a Roush enhanced 2011 5.0!!!!!
Here's the story. I had a magnetic base EB, manual transmission on order. Still no build date or vin and already had my current car sold. I was going to be commuting on my motorcycle until the S550 arrived and I was a little nervous it would somehow be delayed and Winter would be here.
I found a Black 2011 GT with manual transmission at a Ford dealership a few hours away with very low miles and Ford certified.
I always wanted a GT. It wasn't in my budget with the S550 but I still knew the EBs 310 hp was all I really needed and mpg would be great.
I drove down to just test drive the GT and make sure I wouldn't always be admiring those lucky GT owners even while driving a beautiful S550.
I arrived and looked it over. I soon discovered it had a full Roush exhaust.
Then the test drive.... OMFG! Driving it, randomly...uncontrollably exclaiming profanities while grinning and laughing, followed by more random and profane exclamations and then sudden moments of restraint..realizing I was like an out of control crack head hitting a pipe....bringing the car back down to normal speeds and sound levels.....while scanning the road ahead for my next opportunity to hit it again...even just a little.
Yes, I bought it. I knew I had to have THAT car. The last two days have been the most fun behind the wheel of a car that my wife and I have ever had! I've come from a previous world of various four cylinder turbos, each very fun to drive but not even in the same galaxy is this GT. I truly admire you guys that are able to get the S550 GT and I now know that one of those will be in my future too...someday. But for now, my Mustang rekindling has begun, since I last owned one at age 19...a brand new 1991 LX 4 cylinder automatic. I'm typing this....waiting for my daughter to wake up, just so I can take her for her first ride in a car we both have never come close to experiencing before.
I know my new (to me) GT isn't an S550 so I feel sad about not belonging really to this forum technically but I really like this forum. What forum should I now be part of to get the most help and advice?
