Noticed this on the overhead shot:

I'll be the first to admit that this slot above the instrument cowl may just be defrost ducts, but it still made me wonder...

I was hopeful for a HUD, especially considering their whole airplane cockpit theme
But I would assume they would have mentioned a feature that big in the release. Maybe for the svt version?

Really? How does it work? It appears to face away from the driver.
yup. I believe its just a fancy camera that "watches" traffic in front of you. If it sees that the cars are slowing down, it tells the car to slow down or stop.

I'm... skeptical...

That's actually a really crappy place to put such a sensor/camera. The wipers and cowl cut the effective sensor field down quite a bit. Any other vehicle I've seen such a sensor in had it either in the grille or in a pod above the rear-view mirror at the top of the windshield.

ETA: I'm not convinced we're going to see Adaptive Cruise on the options list, either (though I don't care much if I'm wrong on that). The Camaro actually DOES offer HUD, though, so I'd think there'd be at least a little pressure on Ford to offer it on the Mustang.
