These tires are Toyo R888's which characteristically have bulgy/square sidewalls which make it appear wider, but this is still a 285/30/20 front and 305/30/20 rear.

Hmmm... I think you mean 285/35R20 and 315/30R20 don't you? Toyo doesn't make the sizes you stated.

A 285/30 and 305/30 would have shorter sidewalls that the tires on this Mustang.

Yep you're right, sorry about the typo there. Fronts are 285/35/20, rears are 315/30/20.
