How to sync tpms on 2018

Just put on new wheels and tires and they are supposed to have the tpms sensors already on them.

I flicked the hazard switch 3 times and the horns honks and says to sync the front left tire. I borrowed the ford sync button from a friend and I cannot get it to work. The horn is supposed to honk when it is programmed and you move onto the next wheel.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have the correct steps for an 18?

2015 procedure from FSM. Worked with my 2018 also. Assumes factory Ford sensors for 2015 and newer cars. Older sensors, such as the ones for 2012 Mustangs "sort of work" in my experience because they don't sync to specific corners like the 2015 and newer ones do.

NOTE: I have found that it frequently requires two attempts of using the Start button/brake pedal procedure to get this to display the prompt.
