? How to remove glove box & manual compartment

Like the title says, I want to know the proper procedure for removing the glove box and owners manual compartment tray.

Specifically, I want to remove the yellow plastic tab that closes the owners manual tray and paint it black because the bright yellow tab in the glove box offends me.
If I can remove the tab without removing anything else first, all the better. Just let me know how to do it without breaking anything.

I have looked it over but can't figure how to remove it.
No big deal because I figure out how to remove the little yellow tab that I am wanting to paint.

I removed the yellow plastic tab and painted it flat black.
Really makes the tab hard to see.
Just what I was looking for.
Simple to remove.
A pair of channel locks to squeeze the inner piece of the tab and it dropped right out of the slot.
