i have access to forscan and idsThe main issue you will run into is PATS (immobilizer) - anytime a PCM or BCM is replaced, PATS needs to be "reset" to read/set the new unique identifiers in the new module. This will require dealer-level software/access to program due to security measures. You might be able to get by with Snap-on/etc. scanners if they have the option and access. 2 keys may need to be programmed in too, but that depends on vehicle line.
Otherwise, programming is like any other module with as-built data. I'm assuming you're using Forscan?
thanks for the reply brother. i had a ford guy come out and try to reprogram the pcm i replaced. all modules were working but it still couldnt get into connection to the pcm, the bar would load then stop then fail. im thinking maybe a pin or wire is no good.Sorry for the late reply, been busy lately with work. With IDS, just head to programming>programmable module installation and follow instructions. You'll have to do a PATS parameter reset as well, which will require login access to PTS/OASIS.
